want to go full width, i love my yota axles theyre built, to hell but the bearings are done for, pinions, trunions, and wheel bearings are 30 years old. so either rebuild completely and still be narrow or sell em and go get a 44 and dana 60 and throw 5.89s and 5.86s in em. anybody Not break a dana44 and still wheel (finess it) or is this just not possible, from what my friends have done it seems that any 44 locked will break. and i really dont want 3 wheel drive i hate open. I mean i know how to wheel, wen to give it gas and wen to back up and try again, but will this be enough for a locked 44? Or should i just save my nickels and dimes for 60s  :hammer:
what a dilemna
please feel free to chime in, i know theres tons of threads like this but keep in mind my truck only weighs 3k so i may possibly get away with a dana 44 if im nice to it  :sofa:

i run a dana44 and ran 40s for a bit and never broke on my dual cased 3rd gen ex cab. then again i had an arb and didnt use it much. I was running alloy axles as well. I did a lot of snow runs with 37s and stock shafts and never once had a problem and i wasnt easy on it. I also ran a few snow runs with 40s and stock shafts with no issues.
