Clutch woes
« on: Apr 22, 2011, 08:18:10 PM »
I have an 85 PU with a 22r. I recently did the clutch and now there is almost no pedal travel and the clutch engages as soon as you let even the slightest amount of pressure off the pedal. It doesn't really disengage all of the way either, its hell on shifting up and down. We have done everything to diagnose it but no fix.

We have done that like 3 or 4 times cuz thats what we thought it was too. When ya look at the pedal its alot further towards the floor than the brake pedal.

adjust the rod at the pedal.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

yeah you need to actually ADJUST the clutch pedal. you need more length between the clutch pedal and master cylinder

If that doesn't work you may have either a bad Clutch master or slave cyl. Happens sometimes with the new and improved clutch pressure.

We did not have it surfaced because it had been surfaced about 20k miles before. The problem was the push rod. Since today was my day off, I decided to climb up under there and check it out. I decided that its a PITA to adjust the it. Definitly gotta be a contortionist lol. It took me a few tries to get it just right but I got 'er done.
