welding tips?

Hey yall, im a noob to welding just wanted to see if you guys had any tips for me before i get started. post um up!

Prep your metal too.
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

Tip #1.   Don't ever ask Jeff Maxwell (aka, Dr._of_4x4, Maxwe001, etc)how to weld anything.

Tip#2.   Don't burn yourself.  It hurts.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

Stay away from welding in shorts and flip flops whenever possible.

I'm still trying to learn the "small C shape" approach, but for now, the small circles are holding up fine.

whatever your welding mabe have some scrap of the same and practice on that and get your setting just rite

the charts on the inside of the wire comp on migs ar really helpful on getting the settings close... slow nd steady produce good clean looking welds dont c or circle when rinning flux cored wire just pull or push in a straite line

haha forgot about this thread. i do have a stick welder and i have been practicing whenever i get some extra time, they still look like :pokinit: but theyre getting better. thanks for the tips guys!

my uncle showedme this trick for stick that i could never get he bend his rod somehow and barely moved after that it like welded on its own really cool
