battery mounts
« on: May 12, 2009, 01:49:52 PM »
Ballistic fab battery mount or other battery mounts? Has anyone used these?
Post pics on battery mounts from a company or whatever
I am looking for a good battery mount
I have a 85x-cab.

I've been looking for one that doesnt use the optima battery but no luck, I would have to purchase an optima, and not ready to do so yet.

Thanks

I just used a piece of flat stock steel and some threaded rod. It works great. I post some pictures once I get the truck back.

This one looks cool. But has anyone used it. It says its for the 34/78 series Optima. Theirs also one for the D51 optimas, not sure which one that is. According to Optima, i need a 25 series?

So whats wrong with the battery hold down in your truck?  Trying to beef it up?  I use the factory hold down in mine.  Just had to ditch the little plastic tray that's supposed to go under the battery, because the largest CCA/CA battery I could get in there, was 3/4" longer than the plastic.

I guess trying to beef it up :gap:
But mostly since I dont have a hold down, I've been running a bungee cord for six years  :suprised:

I dont have the a battery try either. Do they still sell the factory hold down? lol. I guess I could run a universal mount for now but hate them.

you can pretty much use just about anything solid to mount it..... check out summit racing or jegs... a lot of mounts are designed for optimas, but there are tons of universal types also
