Its a early Volkswagen efi setup and are very reliable but for a gas engine I wouldn't bother.  They are ideal for diesels tho.   The main reason I wouldn't put one on a gas engine is due to the primitive fuel monitoring. They tend to run very rich.  If your truck is a trail rig only then I would say go for it.  If your seriously thinking bout that setup then make one yourself.  There is no computer.  As long as you have a electric full pump and good vacuum then you just need to go to picknpull and look for a I think its 81-85 Volkswagen gti or jetta with the 1.8L engine.  If you want to see how simple that system is google CIS injection. Basically there is a diaphragm on the bottom of the unit which pushes fuel thru the injection lines which is the main reason why they tend to run rich.

when i was looking into fuel injection for my truck i came across this kit that uses gm throttle body and sensors. the listing says straight six but if you look to the right the have a option for the 2.4 http://www.affordable-fuel-injection.com/ixxocart/products/Toyota_Complete_TBI_System_w_Distributor-17-16.html

yes i looked at that . anything i go to do is going to cost about $1000.  i want to keep it cheap, because im going to do a vw 1.9 swap . it well take a while to find a engine and all my stuff to do the swap. little at a time.  but i need to get my truck running good until then. and my weber ant cutting it. dont idle right ,stals, floods ,hard to start , just tired of dealing with it. might put stock carb back on but it need to be rebuilt.
