what is the purpose of a 10 degree rotation? is it for certain set ups? or does it give more clearance to drive lines?

Both, But will require a different or custom crossmember,  alot of poeple use them with a flat belly setup, and a high pinion front 3rd is normally used with a rotated adapter

can you use the regular 4cyl 3rd instead of the high pinion 3rd with a flat belly set up?
