I made these out of 1 1/4". Had the bends done at a muffler shop. Very simple to build. Used latches and handles off a 2nd gen 4runner spare tire carrier from picknpull. They work great, no rattles and operates like a normal door. I liked em so much, I kept them when I sold my x-cab to modify and use on my new 1st gen 4runner.
