Tread Lightly!

Please consider inviting The national nonprofit organization Tread Lightly! to present a Master Tread Trainer Course in 2005 in your area. This is a fantastic opportunity to become experts in spreading outdoor ethics.  If you are interested in having a Master Tread Trainer course in your area, please fill out a request form.

We are currently soliciting requests for 2005 and will set the schedule in December. Now is the time to request a visit by filling out and sending back the attached request form. Please forward this information
to anyone you think might be interested. The deadline for 2005 requests is November 29, 2004.

If you miss the deadline, please still feel free to contact us as we might have a cancellation or be able to send another Tread Lightly! representative. Following is some additional information to familiarize
you with Tread Lightly! and the Tread Trainer program.

WHAT IS TREAD TRAINER?
The Tread Trainer program is designed to train participants in innovative, practical methods of spreading outdoor ethics (specifically regarding motorized and mechanized recreation) to the public. The training is provided through a one-day course and will qualify the participant to become a Tread Lightly! representative-- a "Master Tread Trainer."

Once a participant  becomes a  "Master Tread Trainer",  he or she is equipped to train other educators, clubs, employees, visitors, enthusiasts or community members to be "Tread Trainers"-- adding a whole
new dimension to his/her organization's educational goals or personal volunteer activities.

TANGIBLE BENEFITS: 100 page manual, 2 Tread Lightly! PowerPoint presentations on CD, certificate of completion, button-down collared Master Tread Trainer shirt, 50 durable plastic Tread Lightly! hangtags, set of guidebooks, set of PSAs, set of brochures, "On the Right Trail" video, 6 foot long Tread Lightly! outdoor banner, and an extra discount on all Tread Lightly! materials.

INTANGIBLE BENEFITS: Recognition as a Tread Lightly! member, expertise in Tread Lightly! ethics and ways to minimize outdoor impacts when recreating; methods of teaching ethics to club members, new 4-wheel owners, organization leaders, kids, etc; networking opportunities with other agencies/organizations at the course; ability to train others to become "Tread Trainers" and improvement in presentation skills.

Further information is available in the attachments.

There is not cost to have Tread Lightly! come to your area, only the $75 registration fee per individual.

Or for more information, go to www.treadlightly.org or call (800) 966-9900. Or email Dianne, the program manager at dianne@treadlightly.org.

Also, FYI, the next Master Tread Trainer course will be held on January 12, in Reno Nevada.   You may register on the Tread Lightly! website.

Thanks!
