You only get half as much as the shackle, going from 6" to 5" will only lower it 1/2", and that is if the shackle is vertical, if you have a decent shackle angle it's less, although it may flop over and rest the spring eye on the frame. Why not just borrow a set of tiny tires to get you through inspection?

Hmmn... that sucks, glad I don't have to deal with that. I wonder if he could get away with winching down his axles? Like a suck down winch on a buggy?

Sounds like you have a jerk cop, you must live in a nice part of town, LOL. In bad areas cops are too busy with real crime too harass people for stupid crap like that. Looks like you'll have to lower it. You could switch springs, a 6 leaf RUF pack will be pretty flat in the front.

How about just re-drilling the shackle shorter. Then you dont have to buy anything.

thought about that  redrilling them . dont know . now i got a new problem  took the truck out for the first time today offroad  after about a hour the front end started poping  when it flexed and hit rocks in 4 wheel drive and in 2 wheel drive . sounds like its in the passanger side spring.  on the road it does it when i turn, it pops. so i took  the front spring off and checked it ,regreased it re tourqued all my nuts and bolts, no slack in the tire and knuckle , have to check the tie rods next  maybe tomarrow. it sounds like something hitting the bottom of the cab im lost guess i got to live with it i guess. has anybody go any ideas what it might be ? everything is new in the front end, so im lost

hell just lower the psi in your tires so yea sit an inch lower.....im Oregon if you get pulled over by the same cop multiple times (think its like 3 or so in a month) for the same type of ticket then you can fill a harassment suite or something..........never done it but heard its happened befroe

I had a buddy who had a similar problem with a cop and bumper height.  He made a removeable bottom section for his bumper that bolted on so when he went wheelin he could remove it easily but the cop had no cause with it on.  Can you fab a slider type of thing that will get you legal on your frame?

a piece of 1" square on the bottom and you might even be able to find a few factory threaded holes to mount it to - hell, you could keep it on full time and call it a frame skid :D
