I just heard that the snow line will drop to 4500 in central cail and DANGIT my trucks not ready....

FYI, That's pretty low for this area so early in the season.

Shaver lake is at about 5,600' and Bald Mtn could be 8000'+ so it's gonna be freash snow up there....

So I am starting a support group for all those who want to go wheeling but their rig isnt ready.

So post away your pity and I will cry with you :rivers:

Yep, this weather so early in the fall is a rarety. My rig is sitting in my back yard with a brand new Marlin HySteer sitting in the back of it(minus the ifs box). A new Marlin knucle rebuild sitting in the front seat, a ifs rr that I purchased from Marlin in trhe late summer, 1.5" wheel spacers on the passenger side floor board and a host of other things just waiting for their upgrades. All this stuff was purchased during the summer and me having big ambitions to do it all before winter.  :nope: it didn't happen  :slap:  :rivers:

PS and a "GOT MARLIN" sticker hangin on the fridge

Hi, my name is Brendan and I'm a brokendowntruckaholic.   Mine's been down for a couple of months due to having too much fun the last trip out. The 60s are still holding down the floor of my garage, the cab is still on the wrong frame, and between work and the baby, time is a very scarce comodity (?). I'm hoping to be able to catch at least 1 snow trip before it's gone this season but with the lack of time and the extensive list of to-dos, it's not looking too promising.

Man, this is a depressing thread!  I was about to have myself checked into the enchanted kingdom for 90 days observation but now I see that there are others out there without their rigs...It has actually made me feel better...thanks guys!

I've decided to take over where the mech left off about six weeks ago because of his self inflicted stupidity.  Marlin's spring perches came in today.  Got the mid stock cross member off, located where my shifters need to come through, looked at the cable/ hydraulic clutch situation and have to come up with a new plan, found out that the front custom drive shaft from the salvage yard fits perfect, and the rear axle dropped tonight...and found my exhaust system that was missing.  It had been hauled outside and put in a junk vehicle where all of the junk gets tossed.  Tomorrow after work I'll go back armed with Sawzall angle grinder and drill with hole saw.

I am encouraged that the impotent little weany truck will ride again!  ...I'm not depressed anymore :gap:

My junk has been "under construction" for OVER A YEAR AND A HALF!!!  :rivers: :rivers:
But the time is coming very soon. I finished welding up some of the rear tonight. I hope to start cleaning up the engine(all new vacuum hoses, water hoses, plugs, wires, distributor, and  remote oil filter. Oh and I gotta build a custom air box.
That's how I roll

bah!  who cares if you have 31's or 30's, i wheeled my 88' with 31's in the snow last year ALOT. Yea sure i got stuck but that just makes it more interesting.  Fordyce was a challenge last year in the snow with 31's and open diffs  :talkingn:

Another guy with our group had bald 32's and a cheesy Procomp lift, he tore that truck up getting it to Driveline Hill so we ended up turning around at the top of Driveline Hill and comig back out, it was a LOOONG but very fun day!

:_oops:  I don't have mountians, snow and it's still 80+*. Hell I don't even have a toyota, But I'm going wheelin in Ocala this weekend in a stock 48 willys with 30's and 5.38 gears.  :haha:
Now you have somthing to cry about. :rivers:

Just kidding, I have a bunch of parts on the way and I still can't find an engine I can use. Only if I could be like everyone else and start with a toyota, but I have to be differant so I have a Jeep with toyota parts.

Here is a picture of my last project truck. It's a 88 Nissan with Toyota axles, 5.29 gears and welded spools. 38" swampers and 3.0L V6.

Good luck on your projects, I will be thinking about you this weekend.  :reg: :reg:

I'm working on importing a 3LT complete with trans and case from Japan. I haven't got a price yet, but I think it will be worth the cost. I'm thinking about stretching the frame about a foot to allow for the longer trans and transfer. I would like to get a second low range, but don't think there is room.

Thanks guys for not making me feel like a missfit here. I will share pictures as I go. :driving:

Good luck with your projects.
