Help My Truck
« on: Oct 03, 2009, 09:45:54 AM »
Well I got my new 81 to my house. Its not running right. Running a lil rich, and I cant get the idle to go down or the life of me. We noticed the distributor was all the way to the top, so we got it back down to the middle, think we got it timed close enough. I Adjusted my mixture screw 2 1/2 turns from full closed, and my idle screw will still not lower the idle. The tach dont work, but Im thinkin its around 2-2500 rpms, too high. I want to know what I should do. It failed smog a few years back for running rich, but I got my other 81 smogged, just with tinkering with it, no new parts, so Im assuming this one should be fine. 90% of the vacuum lines are correct, theres 2 or 3 that arent, but they are plugged off, so I dont think they would be affecting my truck. Im waiting to get it running better before I dive into the vac lines. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
