who is setting up the gears? how do you drive it(spin tires from dirt onto asphalt, stay on the throttle when it starts bouncing, etc.)?  need more info.

The diffs are professionally setup. I have solid pinion spacers, oil slingers. The gears are not but the bearings and races are heat treated. The gear sets are Yukon. Welded rear and a Detroit truetrac in the front. The rig is a 89 reg cab with a custom tube box. 3" body lift, 5" spring lift, 6" shackles.  36" Irocs. drivetrain Gm 350 TBI 700r4 Toyota case 4.7 low gears.

you breaking front or rear gears?  Truetrac is a limited slip right?  I had a limited slip in the front of mine and I hated it.  It caused me to break gears also.

Yeah a limited slip is hell on gears.  one tire will be spinning and then the limited slip finally hooks up and transfers power to the other wheel, and snap!

true, but not on a truetrac, its designed to always keep both wheels spinning but one side will spin faster than the other.  and unlike other limited slips it doesnt have clutches it is gear driven

either way its going to lock like that even lockers do that if there designed to or not. Not trying to argue and be way off topic but it still happens.

Anyways yeah I blew up 5.29s like a lot if you want any sort of strength go with 4.56s or 4.88s. I could push that size tire on 4.10s with a 20r so Im sure you could just rock em and be fine. But yeah I wouldnt ever trust toyota axles with a small block just because I have destroyed every piece you comonly break with a 22re on 38s

so you have yukon 4.10s proffesionally installed?

take me a few pictures of your pinion angle. What leaf springs are you running do you get axle wrap? If you do how badly what blows up pinions or ring gears or both evenly?

I know when I was blowing them up I would just break two or three teeth off the ring and on off the pinion every time. One set I broke like six off the ring and the pinion just got chewed up a little. Mine were caused from to much power breaking and 4ds but yeah...

It would help a ton seeing a picture of front and rear pinion angles and spring specs also do they break wheeling or wheeling and driving its easier to know what you were doing when it happened to find a cause.
