tires for tow rig.
« on: Jul 29, 2009, 09:24:07 PM »
Hello all. I have a 01 3500 dodge. and im looking at getting some new shoes for it. I want a more agresive tread pattern, but has to have a high load rate. E is the highest if i memeber right. Also a 33inch tire is a must. So my question is what kind of tires are you all running on your tow rigs? how do you like them? what kind of miles do you get out of them? right now im running some copper street tires. got alot of miles out of them and they worked very well. and i have to buy 6 tires, so maybe somthing on the cheaper side. but still a good brand name. any input will help. thank you all

Cooper has a mildly aggressive tire that comes in higher load rates for service trucks I believe.  I'm thinking it's the st.

I was running Mastercraft AT's E rated on my 01' Dodge diesel 2500 4x4 and would not recommend them. They are a hard tread and rough riding, I got maybe 30,000 out of them when chunks started coming off of the tread. I'm running BF Goodrich AT's right now and like them, smooth and quiet with good traction.
