Pick-n-Pull seats?
« on: Apr 07, 2009, 08:50:37 AM »
I was going to take a ride to pick-n-pull this friday to look for some seats for my '85 pickup.  has anyone had any luck getting good seats from a yard like this?  if so which ones should i look for??

I have a set from a 97 Eclipse in mine. Real nice, fit well looked almost new. Then my little brother took my truck mud riding...

I'm working on installing some 95 Carolla seats in my 84 Reg cab.  They fit well so far.

I think I've said this in the many other replacement seat threads, but again, mid-late 80s nissan 300zx seats fit with minimal mods and are nice and comfy.  Front air bag, side bolster adjustment, adjustable head rest.  You just have to make a little riser for one side in the rear and a straight bracket for one side on the front.

If the 4runner floor design is the same as the 93-95 runners, they should bolt straight in. A few minutes with a tape measure will tell ya. I am running 84 sr5 buckets in my 93. They swapped right in. I had to install a bolt and nut on the front trans side tracks, since the truck was oe with bench seat. the rear mount on that side lined up perfect with the seat belt hole. Then I also swapped in the center console. I put the seat belt anchor on top of the track foot. I really like the way the bucket is deep and the adjustable lumbar support and the side bolsters taylor the fit just right.

I would definitely try the runner seats. They should be more comfy, as the runners of that era were geared more toward comfort than utility.

my opinion is if you not super short its really comfortable to run small seats in a toyota considering its small so when you go to the junk yard look in little ricers like hondas acuras anything of that nature because they sit low to the floor and are usually a lot more comfortable then a toyota seat. I had 02 taco seats in my truck, civic seats and now leather teggy seats and there by far the most comfortable. Grenadedtoy got some seats out of a tercell wagon and there awesome they have handles on both sides that are perfect for harnesses to fit threw. All in all its just what you like but usually you can find anything your looking for like that at a junk yard cause not many people are looking for just any seat there trying to replace what was originally in there car.
