valve issue

anyone ever have a problem with LC eng. valves?
my #2 cyl i seem to keep loosing compression and when i go and readjust the valves its good again,im gettin about a 1000 miles and i have to readjust.
i have about 5k on the head and about 2k on the bottem end.
this seems a bit tomuch i shouldnt need to adjust this much,if i remember right i set them at 8 and 12 tho.
any help or ideas would be nice thanks in advance

Do they get looser or tighter?

Both, intake,exhaust?

yes on both and they get tight enough that i loose compression

Sounds to me that something is going on with the valve seats. I would pull the head.

i have a stuck intake valve,im really getting tired of pulling the head.this better be the last problem with the motor or ill have a runner for sale pretty soon

Before you take the head off, measure how far the adjustment screw is above the rocker arms and compare to the other valves.

Also check to see if the adjuster is somehow self-tightening.

:eek:  either the valves are "coning"  or the valve seats have loosened and are caving in on the port

Before you take the head off, measure how far the adjustment screw is above the rocker arms and compare to the other valves.

Also check to see if the adjuster is somehow self-tightening.
