« on: Jul 15, 2009, 09:48:06 PM »
my 84 has a little nose dive, Just a little. Was wondering what you guys thought abou putting an 1/2 or 3/4 inch block in the front. I know what your gonna say "dangerous to put blocks in the front" but with the little ammount really hurt. and i dont want to take it out of the back. thanks guys(and gals if any)

I have Sky's relocation plates in the front of mine, which are 3/8" thick and have never had a problem. But they have pins through them and are welded to the axle perches.

i dont see a problem as long as the pin is completely through something that is welded to the axle or if you put a longer pin through the springs that would go through the spacer and into the perch

The proper thing to do would be to run another main leaf in the front.  This would give you about an 1" of lift, and not increase the leverage the springs place on the axle.

How old is the lift you have now?  If the lift is relatively new,  you may need to carry 2-300lbs in the bed to settle the rear springs.

I had the same problem with my trail gear springs...they flattened out a little over time but not enough so I ended up taking a leaf out of the back.  They were too stiff anyway
