151f turbo trans!
« on: Jan 24, 2009, 08:06:31 PM »
So i have a SASed 1994 yota pickup and I think it has a w56 trans but what model w56 came in mine?I know its the stock trans that came in the truck.ANyways I have asked this ? and figured marlin would know.I have a friend that sold me a 151f trans and t-case with 4.7 gears it has been rebuilt by marlin and I was wondering if I could replace my w56 without modifications?I heard I will have to change my speedo sender. Also someone said that the lenghts of the tranny were different.Just wondered all help is muchly appreciated!

u will need a clutch disc for a turbo clutch, its 23 spline, and the stock 4 banger is 21 spline.
u will also need to use the rear t-case flange of your old one to fit your drive shaft, the turbo flange and rear drive shaft have a bigger bolt pattern with bigger bolts.

I recently had Marlin do this on my 1990 extracab and I'm very happy with it. The length is the same so the crossmember doesn't need anything. However the shifter is off a little requiring the floorboard hole to be enlarged and the shifter to be jogged over. I'm not a techie so sorry this isn't very precise. I had him put a short throw kit on at the same time. Hope this helps...

Your clutch and flywheel will work.

R151F tranny needs a t-case with 23 spline input.  All other transmissions, are 21 spline output, and needs a corresponding t-case.

the turbo trans uses a larger clutch disc... uses the same as the V6 R150F

I am sure it will work... but will put more strain on your clutch.

use the clutch and flywheel meant for each other and it should work for either tranny   the input shaft should be the same
