Axle questions
« on: Jan 17, 2009, 11:23:33 PM »
Hey guys i got a quick question regarding axles for my yota.I want to do full widths and i figured i might as well go all out on my first yota build.I was thinking of doing a 14 bolt rear with a Dana 60 front.I plan on running 42'' TSL's,beadlocks, dual cases, bob the bed, etc.I know i am going to need a full width front hanger from sky's offroad or something and i am going to have to adapt my driveshafts to fit on the Chevy axles.is there anything else that i would need.or that you guys would recommend as far as parts i would need to complete the swap.Oh yeah i plan on running 63'' Chevy's in the rear with dual shackles, and downey 4'' rear lift springs in the front or maybe marlin springs.thanks for the help.

Have you ever seen what happens to Sky's hanger when the rig is really used? If you get one box it.

Lol.   Actually, I think the bent over version looks better than out of the box..

I'd also consider running shorter springs.  The 1T's are heavy enough you can make a shorter spring work better than the long arse 63"    Ditch the dual shackles too, won't need them..

u can buy a marlin one and lengthen it, or buy front leaf buckets and add your own piece of box steel inbetween them

Yeah they guy wants 150 for the downey springs i think i might have to just use the rears up front until i can afford  :turtle: springs.I am on a very tight budget and the only reason i am going full widths is because my uncle is selling them to me for 300 bucks.
