1983 4 speed long bed
« on: Jun 09, 2008, 10:19:09 AM »
Just picked an 83 long bed on craigslist. Was just wondering if you guys could provide some maintanence tips and general upkeep pointers, i.e, best way to clean the throttle body, air intake etc...

also,
1. what kind of oil (it has 158k miles) should I use?
2. what type of gear oil?
3. anyother fluid changes?

Thanks in advance for you help and responses.

Get a truck manual from your local auto parts store and go to town.

1. Can o worms.  Will need to know where you live or weather conditions truck will see.
2. Stock recommended. (Will be in the above manual)
3. Check/replace all fluids is a GREAT IDEA.
