Axle relocating plate
« on: Jul 28, 2009, 09:53:11 AM »
Would it be advisable to make a axle relocating plate out of 1/4in to move my front axle forward ~3/4in? Thoughts? :dunno:

With crossover steering my steering box is far enough forward so it works fine

Yeah with the push pull steering it will limit the droop by shortening the draglink but to me that's better than continuing to tear up my tires.

Slolyfe, did you weld that to your axle?

i was  just wondering.    cause i did my axle swap with high steer.  and plated the frame for the steering box.  but don't remember if i moved it forward.    or maybe enough.

Yea I welded it to the spring perch and you have to drill out your Ubolt flip kit if you have one

Weld them both.

Wait, is there a way to do this without adding a plate? Like, drilling the perch. I was thinking if I made my spring any higher it might interfere with my steering.

those plates are really for the rear.   right .     i did'nt know that.      but drilling the perches  sounds like that is the way to go.     if it is going to interfear  with the high steer.
and for the plate that goes under the drivers  side  it will have to be delt with in a  corrective  mannor.   what's  ya'll  think???   :twocents:     :beerchug:
