use a deep well socket  thats  just small enough to go thru the  yoke ,  drive one off,  then flip it over  and drive the other out,

when going back together  keep the cross  in the  cap  that your  "pressing" in  with the hammer, it takes practice  but  you can do it

#1 remove the clips.... then use a brass drift punch  on u-joint cup and smack it with a hammer... I have also used an old impact socket as a "punch" to drive them out when the drift punch was not handy.

Edit: Glen you beat me to it...  I have replaced thousands of U-joints, the only ones I have ever used a press on were on concrete mixer trucks.  They grow in there because of all the acid they use to clean the trucks.

i have done a few u-joints and all with out a press but holy crap i had to do more beating on the toyotas then anything else. my other trucks and cars are no problem but i thought i would need to go to a shop and have them toys pressed out. i beat them so much i worried about bending the ears. i just thought mine were rusted in place but that was on 6 different toy drive lines. next time allot of PB blaster!! the socket trick is the way to go and a large bench vise works good a a press

Easiest I've seen it done was with hands and a soft hammer.  (brass)

I've never have good luck with the presses, and usually resort to the socket.

i use a c-clamp, one socket bigger then the cap and one socket the same size as the cap.  put it together and press it out.  you might need to hit it with a hammer to losen it up a little.

I have gotten them from Toyota and D-Shaft shops.

This place also sells them and rebuild kits for the CV.
