starting new project
« on: May 07, 2004, 04:31:04 AM »
been in the works for a while now..here is the plan..

Going to build a small one man buggy..not really for one thing or the other but more just for fun..It will be 4wd..Tube frame on coils..

tube chassis,,,will use a highout put front wheel drive motor(combo or good tourqe and h/p,, and trans of somesort..Maybe out of a mr2 maybe a camery or somthing like that..front wheel drive a must..
The engine and trans will sit longways as if it were rear wheel drive. The left and right drive axles ow become drivelines and the trans becomes the t-case...Still 5speed and reverse..

The front and rear end will mostlikly be out of a jeep .maybe a d30 and 35 or 44..Was thinking the front could be turned upside down for reverse rotation and high pinion due to the rotation of the front drive shaft,or right axle depending how you want to look at it..The rear should be ok as is..I thought 31 in tires would be plenty for a small rig...I am starting the plans..any ideas?what do you think? :smack:
Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!

Kinda like patriot motorsports, they make mini monster trucks with honda (civic?) drivetrains.  I think they are at www.patriotmotorsports.com.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

The sideways shift pattern would be a little weird for a while. I say try it. This kind of idea may be ridiculed by some, but I can remember people being flamed for other ideas which are now well accepted!
