94 EFI Fuel Pump Issues
« on: Jul 26, 2007, 05:17:20 PM »
I just replaced the fuel pump in my 94 22re 4wd.  I haven't driven the truck, much it has run for maybe 45 minutes cause it isn't roadworthy right now.  Today I went into the shop I work at to start it up since I changed the antifreeze and it wouldn't start.  I had replaced the sending unit the other day and hadn't started it since.  I have no blown fuses, and am assuming I have power and ground at the pump as I did before.  The problem is the with a ohm meter across the pump terminals it reads open.  This read directly on the pump not the wires.  What could cause this to happen.  It is a bosch pump, I am going to get it replaced but I don't want this to happen again.  Luckily I have the bed off so it isn't a big deal to change.

Thanks

first problem is bosch... it hasnt run since you put it in? if its a new or reman pump, i would say the pump is probably bad.... i dont trust bosch anything for beans on a yota... they suck on fords too

My mistake, I'm a little incoherent today.  I replaced, and had to wait to get the sending unit.  It has run since I put the new bosch pump in.  I've maybe run the truck for 45 minutes total on the new pump.  The truck is at my work and I have to move it in and out everyday so it isn't in the way.  Thats all the time it has run for.
