idle down for setting timing

when i jump the terminals for idling down to check my timing, it doesnt idle down like it should??  anybody know about that???

Yeah, you have something out of whack.  Check the codes when you jump the terminals.  Probably TPS out of range.

Does your check engine light come on when you jump the terminals? Also it does not idle the engine down it takes out the computer controlled advance so you can set base timing. I think this happened to me on my 22re before if the engine is not at idle it wont go to base timing. You may have to turn your idle down.
