Drill out the bushings, or change the mounts.

How much larger ID are your mounts? Sometimes the rubber will squish inwards making it appear much, much smaller when in actuality, it may just need some grease to help it slide over the mount.

When I got my new rear shocks, they came with a bushing pre-installed in the eye. They would not fit over the shock mount, so, I pushed the bushing out, and cut it in half. I then pushed one half on, then the shock, then the other half, like the stock bushings. [><] to [>  <] I then installed the washer and bolt, and tightened them down. I then did the same with the rest of the bushings and it worked like a charm!
It ain't worth doin' if you don't have to clean up afterwards!

Build it, break it, fix it, repeat until your wallet is empty.
