New one to the forms.
« on: Apr 09, 2007, 04:10:38 PM »
I have a 1990 Toyota shortbed and I am getting a new 4cylinde put in it right now. It have bushwacker cut out flairs with a stock lift and 31/10.50s. I was really wanting either 33s or 35s on it. Will a 3" body lift and a 1 1/2 ball joint spacer do the job? I do light offroading, nothing hard core if that helps.

Any imput on welding up the rear spiders the pros and cons?

Thanks

Is this your daily driver? I don't recommend welding the rear on a dd but if you were too, it would cause some handeling quirks and extra tire wear. 3'' body lifts are also considered unsafe but a 2" body should be ample clearance for 33s. You are gonna want to regear those axles too becouse it will be way underpowered.

Check out ebay for a regeared front centersection near you then get someone local to set up a name brand r&p in the rear 3rd. You get what you pay for after all.

When all is said and done you will wish you bit the bullet and did the sas on that toy afterall. Here is all the info you will ever need for building a toyota. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=459180

i'm not a fan of body lifts...

go with maybe a suspension lift.. or like gittin it.. an dgo 2inch..
but try to avoid a body lift and go all suspension!  but 2inch should be fine!

No its not a daily driver, just a play toy. Anyone know anything about the balljoint spacers?
Does anyone have any info on bobbing the bed?

I am from the Lake of the Ozarks Missouri
