Too bad that park is so far away! I would love to go there or rporp one of these days. The build up of that park from an old quarry is so cool.

I heard Hannibal kind of sucks. But that's just what I heard. I have never actually been there. I heard they just opened and really only have a few trails open. I don't believe that there is much natural rock either. RORP is pretty kickass though. The same people own it

Hannibal has only had a few invitation only groups or clubs through and is not open to the public yet as far as I know. All that has gone on there so far is a couple rock crawling comps. There is supposed to be a few miles of trails ready for the grand opening.

I didn't think anything in the midwest could even come close to touching Flat Nasty after our little trip this last weekend but Hannibal comes close. The trails are way different but both are really fun. I would not say either one is better because both have strengths and weaknesses and the terrain and setup is completely different. Hannibal is obviously all man made with a trackhoe while at Flat Nasty you can't get any equipment in to the trails so it is all natural. Hannibal is composed of short trails that are packed with challenging things close together. Flat Nasty trails are longer with really nasty sections mixed in with moderate and easy parts. You could easily spend four days at Flat Nasty but Hannibal would be exhausted after about two days I think. I am sure Tom the owner is gonna cut more trails but the park is just way smaller than Flat Nasty. Tom and Debbie Wombles the owners of Hannibal Rocks are great people. Tom took me around and tried to find me spare parts when I broke. The only thing I can say is to go to both places. I had a great time the park turned out awesome.

I was fortunate enough to hook up with a few guys from 4x4 Syndicate and run the trails with them. There was a lot of cool rigs and the trails were awesome.

At Hannibal there are rock piles scattered all around the parking area and main staging area. You could tie up a half day and break your rig easily at Hannibal and never leave the parking lot.

The trails were well made and after a little rain they were greasy and challenging. Crawl Magazine sent a photographer to the event. He took a few pictures of me hopefully I was doing something cool at the time and make it in but I highly doubt it.

Too bad most all the rigs were Jeeps. There was probably a hundred or so rigs there. Quite a good turn out if you ask me.

There is definitely some cool stuff here. I gave this trail a rating of 6 broken hub studs. Or maybe it rated me :headscratch:

It was decently muddy. It was perfect. There was enough to make things difficult but not enough to cover everything and make a complete mess.

I haven't taken any pictures yet but I will post them in my build thread when I get around to dealing with the truck. It was nice in Missouri. It got colder and colder as I drove hold and by the time I pulled in all the mud was completely frozen in my wheels and it was 20 degrees. The blow up hub is frozen inside the wheel in a big pile of muck.

Here are a few more pictures

For what I paid for that  :bling: hotel room I could have almost rented that cabin. If I had only known, we could have split the bill, and saved us all some dough. The loveseat wouldnt fit in the fireplace though.  :screwy:

Cole,
I'd like to get some contact info to add you and the rest of your boys from Minnesota to my contact list for the Midwest.  I wheeled a little with you at Tall Corn this year and I stopped and talked to you in Hannibal on New Year's Day.  I've got a black extended cab Tacoma.  Anyway, if you would, drop me a line at jjchavez06@sbcglobal.net and I'll let you know what all information I'm looking for.  Since you guys are obviously read to travel at will in order to wheel, I'd really like to be able to get ahold of you guys to come down to MO and wheel with us.

Thanks!

Josh
