I ran 2 different sets of 63" chevy's on my runner. 3 and 4 leaf with the overload removed. Both sets flexed almost too much and I did have a lot of sway on mountain roads. I just switched to marlin 4" and it gave me what I was looking for. Lots of flex and a firm stable ride. I quess it all comes down to what you expect from your rig and what conditions you will be using it for. Like I said my personal opinion would be to save up and buy the marlins that way you will only have to installed the springs one time and not three times like I did.

at least i can one day aspire to reach your aweome sicky sicky gnar gnar coolness

What the hell is that suppose to mean.  You really dont make any sense at all.

Back to the topic.  Chevys are a good cheap spring, but they are not made for rockcrawling IMOA.  Hyena said it best, they bend and break a lot.  If you pull a leaf out then in my experience they tend to sag more and break and bend easier.  This is my opinion and take it like you want.

For 50-100 $ from the boneyard, they are a cheap upgrade. I ran my long ass 63" chevys for about a year, never got hung up on the mounts or springs, but close...I switched over to 56" ford ranger springs that I gave $35 for...cleaned them up and pulled one of the leafs from the 1/2t chevys, and have a super flexy dank nar nar no frills spring pack...pow pow...mmm tasty

My whole rig doesn't make sense to some, but it is working for me!

I like little yotie's with the springs for the cheap modification thing, but after seeing the Marlin srpings in action, I believe those will be the next springs I buy....

I know when I had 4" rear springs in my 83 short bed the ride was rough. After putting the 63"s in, the ride was way better. I think they flex great.  My buddy had to change from 4" rear springs cause he over flexed them. He put a bump stop towards the front of the spring.
