can anybody share whatever experience you had with procomp leaves or genuine suspension that 4wheelparts are selling?

Procomp leaves are stiffer than a porn star on Viagra, there on good  but you will never have to worry about saggy springs.

That's what I always hear too, that being the case I must have gotten a defective kit.  :smack:

Mine don't flex too bad, i've stuffed the rear, and almost the front, but need a fender trim

Mine are stiff as hell and don't flex very well. My 4" front springs are only a 3 leaf pack and each leaf is thick as hell. Pop the extra coin for some good springs.

I am very happy w/ my skyjacker(for cheaper mass produced springs).  I just measured the flex other day, 14 1/2 in articulation front, 19in rear.  The rears are visibly too stiff, and they have quite a few trail rides on them.  All in all for the money they're not bad.

I have a buddy who works at 4WP and he told me the Genuine suspension springs are made by a local spring mfg. in Long Beach CA, he put them on his Chevy and likes them. I rode in it a few times seems like they are softer than most aftermarket rides kinda cushy, I am going to try a set for the rear of my Toyota as soon as he can get them for me.

You get what you pay for. Spend the extra $ and go for Marlin,All Pro, or Trail gear they all are very similar.

If you got the cash go with alcan you wont regret it. I have 7" Alcan springs and they flex awesome plus you tell them what you wont in your spring so if you put 400lb of shirt in the back let them know and they will make the springs for that. You can go wrong   :twocents:

did you have a bed on that 85??  downey springs  have the military wrap like toyota  and Marlin springs do  and are known for a flexy and nice ride,  but only offer a 3 inch lift

procomps  DO NOT have the mil wrap  and are 3 very thick leaves

downeys are 4 or 5 leafs cant remember  but  are designed to flex

AOR was the first to have Alcan build springs just for Toy rock crawlers. All Pro Basically farmed out the orders to another spring company and copied the design(legnth, spring rate, loose wraps, anti wrap half spring, ect. The other companies followed suit with small changes. If you want them to flex, ride nice, and most of all last go with the big three.IMHO
