Steering
« on: Jul 08, 2006, 12:34:34 AM »
OK i know that everyone loves their high steer but i don't need it and at the moment could care less about power steering.  My truck is an 82 with manual steering and it is scary to drive because the wheel moves close to a 1/4 of a turn before the wheels turn. it is something in the steering box because everything else is tight (ie. tie rod ends etc.) has anyone else had this problem? and if so how do you fix it without going to a high steer or a power setup?

on the gearbox there is a like 14mm nut with a flat screwdriver slot  in the biddle on the stud,  loosen the nut a little and screw that slotted stud in a turn or so,  then check it
