Toy case for a 465 w/ 4.7s
« on: Jun 04, 2006, 07:32:28 PM »
Like it says. I got this setup to run in my Cruiser and then decided to run a much larger tire and more HP than previously thought. It is a complete mini truck box (not a reduction box in front of a Cruiser case) built with Marlin's sm465 adapter, Marlin's 4.7 gears, and a cryoed output. It is for a 10 spline 4wd sm 465 and I'll include the original output from the case for a spare. It is bolted in but has not been run since built. I'd like to get $650 for it.

What's your location?  And I hate to be the one to ask, but are you interested in any trades?  Look up my post in "for sale".  Let me know if there's anything you'd like (if you're not too far away).

Well I don't think shipping a tcase would be too awfully bad.  I got a quote for an nv4500 with a tcase from washington state of about $120.  So does this tcase have an adapter?  Or is it a different case with the sm465 bolt pattern on the front?  (I'm not familiar with the marlin conversion)

It is a stock run of the mill mini truck case. Marlin's adapter is 2 aluminum plates (one bolts to the case, one to the tranny and then they bolt together) and a different input for the case to work on any 10 spline 4wd sm465 output. Then the 4.7 gear set and the cryoed output. Shipping looks to be about $60-$75 in the lower 48.

As long as you're running an SM 465 tranny. (OTT makes an adapter for a Toy "R" motor to a 465)

just wondering if you would separate and sell just the sm465 to toy adapter

I would rather not as the input is part of the adapter and it is specific to the 4.7 gear set. Make an offer on the whole setup and then you are geared and ready to go.  :yesnod:

Almost forgot, when the case sells, I'll also have a 465 recently gone through with a new output installed also for sale.

I'm still real interested, I just don't have the cash flowage right now still.  Do you need any Snap-On tools?  I have some and can get my hands on some if there's anything you'd like to trade for.  Cause that stuff wouldn't cost much to ship.  That's assuming hand tools or smaller power tools.
Another Q:  Can the input be swapped back so I could use the tcase behind a yota tranny with the 4.7's?  Or is the 4.7 gear actually part of the input?  I was hoping to use a stock case with my 465 in the project and the 4.7 case on my other yota.
