Select Comfort Sleep Number Bed
« on: May 24, 2006, 08:51:00 PM »
Tonight my wife and I became the proud new owners of a Sleep Number 4000 bed and some strange pillows that are filled with something resembling a hybrid of down and gel.

Anybody have one of these?

Too bad we have to wait a week for delivery!  :rivers:

We have had one for about 3 years. Don't really care for it much. :dunno: Just don't think I get any better sleep with it over any other bed I have slept on. We don't have the pillows though, cuz I'll never get rid of my feather pillow.

Which model?

I rarely have problems sleeping as a result of a bed, the main reason I wanted it was it won't wear out over time and felt really great.

Not sure of the model. I know it's a Queen size.  You are right about not worring about it wearing out over time.

Bah, I had to look a while to find a bed hard enough...apparently they think people like soft beds?  I was tempted to go with 4 milk crates and a peice of plywood, but then I found a real firm mattress...firm is better for my back!  yup, nice and comfy.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Same thing here, I don't sleep very well in any bed but I can't stand soft beds.
I'd sleep better on a concrete floor then on a soft bed.

I remember back in the days when products that seemed futuristic were labeled something like "Mattress 2000."   Now that 2000 has come and passed, we are now given "Mattress 4000."  :rofl2:

I've just got a futon   of course, I can sleep anywhere, so I really don't care that much.
