My $500 Turbo,Warning big pics
« on: Jul 01, 2003, 04:21:51 PM »
I finaly got the pics from my new score. #3 injector cloged. It clicks hard, but no fuel as far as I can tell. I put some liquid hope in the fuel, maybe I won't need to take it apart.

Wahoo it lives!

I took it apart today. Looks like the PO didn't clean anything when he swapped the motor. ( remeber he had 2 turbo trucks to build one out of) big clog in the input of theinjetor like mud fell in it when he was putting it together. A little picking, a little squirting. Now runs nice.

Next problem I got to figure out is why it runs to the red before tem goes to normal. Changed Tstat, didn't help. Does it when I run it hard, not just at start up. Any ideas?

I'll keep looking :book:

My buddy went through tree stats cause of the same thing.  Finally he spent $15 on a stat and solved the problem. Autozone stats suck

Yea my cooling issues seams to be going away. Must be a finiky stat.

Got the $35 home built exhaust on. Passed Echeck with flying collors. Check out these numbers.
HC 7.6 PPM
CO 0.02 %
CO2 15.16%

That is with the EGR blocked  off. 31" tires and it pulls hils in 5th at 70mph no problem.

I love to drive this truck. I'm not sure I can handle it being down when it goes under the knife. I got to get started soon before I get in trouble. Got pulled over doing 58 in a 45, and he said I was puling away from him. Good thing I put my insurance card in the truck.

Sorry I just got the truck, must be oversized tires. OK watch yourself. This was about 130 am on a Fri. I got away without a ticket. Looking for drunks I guess.

Youll like this story.

I had something in the truck, so I locked the doors for the first time tonight. When I went back out to my truck the key didn't fit the door locks. :smack: Had to take out the back window to get in to the truck. Took a little bit of trruble with a sccrewdriver to get the weatherstripping to pull out, but I got it enough to get my hand in it, then put the window back. I guess I learned to check the locks when you buy a truck.

Also I did swap the Tstat again with a Gates, It fixed the cooling issues.

Nope, I still plan to get it back on the road. My bones are healed, and I start a real job on Monday! But you know that means I will start to have the money, just not the time

I think that was the problem. Maybe the PO gave me the wrong key, only the ignition is worn so it works, not the doors.

No new news. I still tool around town in it. Drilled a hole in the Tstat to help with that issue yesterday. Driving it to work tomorrow since my Bronco II needs a radiator, and the Van is still broke.

Here is a new pic.
