need a carb for 22R
« on: Dec 02, 2005, 07:56:31 PM »
i need it for my 84. preferably one that ran fine when removed. i need to rebuild mine so i need a spare while the one off my truck is being rebuilt. california emmissions type is the one i need. (cheap is much appreciated as im not a huge money maker :twocents:  :smack:  )

also,  does anyone know if jets and such vary from truck to truck in stock form? dunno if thats a factor. im looking for rebuild kits and seem to run across diffrent options. or does someone here know of where i can get a good carb kit from???  :help:

http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=18113.0     I would put this one on until its time for a smog check, then put your stock one back on. I have seen this one in action and it didn't flood like a factory carb on steep hill climbs and  being off camber.

yea, i did see this one.... ive thought about doing it but i really hate dealing with the smog-nazis here in socal. thats why i figured on rebuilding my stocker. with the webber though doesent it usually eat up more fuel on the highway?? my trucks life is mostly lived as a back and fourth commuter, so gas milage is a big thing. wheeling secondly.

when i rebuilt my carb they had two kits. one was a round shape on the top of the carb and the other an oval shape. Other then that the kit i got from kregan for 40 bucks, came with a lot of parts so it would work with the diffrent small variations of carbs out there for the 22r. there is a company called recarbo, out of pitsburg, ca. They do really nice work. Their quote for a toyota car is like $250. you would have to send yours in and they would rebuild it for you. Its worth it really, do a clean job.
I'd like to quit thinking of the present as some minor insignificant preamble to something else~~~~~

It's a typical aftermarket carb kit.  Gaskets, diaphragms, etc. if you want i can scan the parts list.

i got a carb for free jsut shipping if you want it... but its kinda dirty, came on my old engine was from a yard... the carb itself had its wires snipped, there is enough room to add a new connector, but a harness will be needed, also not sure if it worked prior, the engien it was one worked well.....
