What's the deal on the Webbers? I've heard a bit on them but I'm new toys and don't know much about these carbs. Are they good for the rocks? How about for daily driving? How much of a bolt on replacement are they? Will I still pass smog in CA with it? My truck was originally from AZ so I don't have as much smog equipment.

to pass smog you need the ca legal one, and it worked better than the toy one but still a carb..

Well I still have that CA carb for $125 good runnin carb promise.  In my opinion the stock are better for reliability and crawlin but you get better performance from the webbers hand down.  If your stuck on getting a webber make sure it has a CARB# on it so its legal in california. If not I'm just south of Sacramento about 20min.

I will agree with 84runner...if your rock crawling stay with the toy carb...I have not seen a webber to very well in a rough, off set camber terrain with out problems.I know my toy carb works awesome for most off road applications..just my .02$ :chug:

weber rocks.

my 33b runs sooooo much smoother than the aisin.

the stocker is okay and easy to build but the weber is miles beter i think.

and i haven't had any angle problems.

also for smog i have seen the "cali legal ones" like branden is talking about.

i have a regular one and i just cover it up with the air cleaner.  lots of smog tech only check my gas cap, egr valve, timing, and cat.  the carb by itself runs very clean at the sniffer.  it's just the visual.   :heyhey:

C.A.R.B. wants to aprove evreything aftermarket that we put on. :b_s:

Thats a good point for somone that goes to a smog check only station here in Cali were they dont touch anything just make sure you got it.  But if you go to a real auto shop that does smog, they'll adjust your timming for you and lean out the carb to pass smog for you, but if they pull of that cleaner and see a after market carb on there they are going to want a CARB#. And not to metion that an after market carb always needs adjustment and can be a pain in the but for a daily driver.  But if you can adjust your own carb then all it is, is a little time.

living in the desert makes toyotas
a musthave thing . so much desert to crawl in and so few gas stations.
barstow is great, calico and the hammers are both within a half an hour  drive.
