Yea !! ive always wanted one!!! i come home from riding one weekend and theres a tan toyota sitting on a trailer behind my dads truck and he hands me the keys and goes " dont break it "
Its a 81' , solid axle , 22r u know. Its not in to bad of condition but for some reason whoever had it before took the speakers out of the doors and put them between the seats . . . ? makes no sense
As soon as i can get a real job ill lift it and big tires , u kno  . . the works . . . so for now im doin some stock wheelin'

thats a pretty awesome dad to give you a 1st generation yota

you dont have to have lots of $$  to lift a yota,  so where are you located??   post up some pics and tell everybody ,   the only dumb question on the Marlin BB is the one you dont ask

you don't need much lift on the early ones, 33s will pretty much fit stock(rub a bit)

all he needs to stuff some 33's or even 35's is make some shackles or some blocks. also welcome to the board.

the only way you could make a '79-83 better is to get some better springs and better steering.  well, and a decent tranny, but the L52 ain't too bad.  if your fronts aren't too shot, go ahead and wheel it and get a feel for her, she'll tell you what you need to do to improve

welcome dood -- i just got my first yota about a month ago too.

youll love it. mines got 380,000 miles and fires frist crank everyday to get me to work.

yeah, i had to put my yellow truck behind the garage, it was eating away my paychecks.  i shoulda been moved out of my parents house a year ago if i wasn't pumping 500 a month in parts into it

You won't be disapointed.  First Gen's all the way.  I  bought my 82 last winter and love it.  Post some pics and make sure you thank your dad again, the gift that keeps taking.
