I've had the downey's in the past, they held really well being cranked to the sky(I had to fit those 40" boggers somehow  ), but I highly doubt one is better than the other, both are going to ride like crappy if you crank em', but they are perfect for minor adjustments, winch etc.

A friend of mine is a sprint car mechanic he swears by sway away.  He says they are the best.

So you don't want any flex at all, huh?  Stay with your stock tbars.

pretty much what he said. i have them and they ride like :pokinit: cranked up an inch. i lowered it and its a lil better. instead of have very little flex with the ifs you will have none. but if you really want them ill have my sway-a-way torsion bars availible in a few weeks

I ran Rancho's in the front of my 4Runner they worked fine, I had 'em cranked up and the ride was ok. Now crank up the stockers and it's bone jaring. :shudder:

think about it swampy,  sway away makes bars for everything,  downey makes only toyota stuff.  if you dont want to spend the coin get 86runners used bars,  but if buying new get the downey bars
i'll be getting downey springs for my truck just because Marlin doesnt make 3" springs

I'm using Rancho's (26mm) on mine as a part of a 3" lift.  Yea....they run stiffer. :dunno:

all after market, larger dia. bars are designed to hold the truck higher without disforming, this will create a harsher ride by nature, and flex a lot less, because of the added stifness. i guess it depends on what you want them to do, if you want a nice ride and a little travel, stick with the stock bars that wont last as long but at least they are cheap, hell, next month you can have mine for free....later :driving:
