With marlins trail flex kit (4" springs) I was able to run up to 38.5's TSL SX, and 36" Iroks comfortably no trimming required... My buddy is running 37" MTRs with same kit.. no rubbing.. no trimming.. no problems!

Im assuming this is for your 4runner in your advatar?

If you don't want to do any trimming i would say 4" would probably be about right.  If you don't mind trimming to fit you won't need as much lift.

My dads 87 runner runs 37" mtr's with 4" fronts and 5" rears with rear fender trimming and still rubs. On a runner its the rear tub that causes problems.

That's why you cut it out and make new wheel wells.

\Thats why i run a pickup with a tube bed. But my dad doesnt want to hack his up so we will trim a little more and then install some bump stops to limit it.

Weird.. I ran without any issues.. does he have the factory bumper on with the lower side pieces?
