tcase problem

i just installed a quicklock locker in the front off my truck drove it a little every thing sounded good put it on some rocks not anything crazy heard a big bang the drivers side started poping when under a lot so took it out of 4wd and tcase stuck in neutral pull the driver axle the birfield looks fine is it the locker and whats up whit the tcase  ???????

sounds like its in a bind   back up  until it pops out

fixed the tcase the shifter had some build up on it cleaned it good shifts fine now but if the birfield joint was busted it would be noticeabl when i pulled it correct or no

yes  you would see at the least a big crack  in the bell

sounds like the locker itself might have busted

so i pulled the center  section and there was a half inch of metal flakes in the botom of the houseing but no big broken pieces has any one had or heard of a quick lock locker skiping teeth when under a load or may it be instaled wrong

Did you inspect the quick-lock? If it lost that much material you will be able to tell just by looking at it. I would also inspect the pinion and carrier bearings. If theres that much material in the bottom of the housing I would be skeptical about reusing the bearings. As for it being installed wrong, it is possible, but not likely, they are a very simple item to install.
