I mounted mine on the inside of my rock sliders.  It comes up inbetween the back of my cab and the front of my flatbed.  It sticks up above the cab a couple inches.  I had mine on my old roll bar and it hit everything you an think of.  After that i mounted it to the bottom part of my old bed along side my roll bar.  It still hit stuff.  but now i have it on my rock slider.

Ryan, very nice. I need to build a mount for my mountain bike too, but I figure I'll just lay it flat and haul it that way.

Hey Hyena, did you notice a serious drop in reception/transmission when you lowered your antenna to frame level?

Mike-

Thanks for the compliment!  That was just some scrap aluminum I found at the bike shop I used to work at.  We used it to make display racks in the store I think...  I used to race bicycles, hence the mounts.  Do yourself a favor and go get one of those fork mounts- they're only like $20 at any good bike shop.  It'll save you a bent derailleur or two in the long run   I used to lay mine down- even on the non-drive side of the bike (would that make it the coast side...?)  and it managed to screw stuff up all the time, not to mention scratch my $4000 bike  :shocking:   Also, I take the bikes to Moab whenever I go, and by the time I load up a 37" spare and all my other crap, there is no other room for the bikes except to stand them up.

Hope this helps...

BigMike, It hasn't worked since i mounted it on my sliders.  Of course it doesn't have aground becasue of the paint. (have to scrape that off before i can use it)  And then i think the wires got messed up going to the cb.  It didn't want to turn on.  I messed with the wires and found that one wire went to my horn.   I found these wires when i bought the truck.  I think it had an alarm of some sort.  But i found that one of the wires had power going to it so i used that for my cb hook up.  But now i have it hooked up to my horn for kicks.  Also my horn is connected to my steering wheel, i don't know why.  so i am just gonna try and re wire it so it will work and then scrape the paint off the mount for the antenna.  then i will let you know if it gets better signal.

Some of us up in the oregon territory, use bull whips. for various reasons.  But we mount them to the front bumper or rear. but the tip is flexible enough to be bent in a circle, and run a string through it and tie it off to cab, stake pocket or what ever if clearance is a prob!!  And cheap tennis balls, or go to the toy section of a store and find some silly face ball!
