Topic: Looking for friends- 1985 Toyota truck

Howdy folks,

Just trying to meet the post threshold. I have a 85 truck with the 22R motor, with a measly 246,000mi. The previous owners did some bad work on it, so I am left with undoing their shoddy additions/repairs. Besides a few issues, a horribe ticking noise and a faulty gas guage it is in good shape.

Are there any other forum members in the NYC region?

  2     Have fun with your truck, adjust the valves for the ticking and check the cam guides while you have the valvecover off.  With a screwdriver, push the right side, as your looking down at the cam chain, of the guide, if it moves replace the cam guides with the metal replacements.
