Let’s discuss REALISTIC options
« on: Jun 23, 2019, 03:51:00 PM »
So I am picking up a new to me 2000 4Runner sport. It is in good shape other than the engine leaks out of the main seal, by leaking I mean don’t drive it more than a mile or 2. It is a 3.4 auto. Do I... pull tranny and redo the rear main? Or pull the engine and do a full reseal? Or do a full rebuild? Or full on engine swap? The plan is waggy front swap, lockers front and rear and full body armor on 35s or 37s. Reliable streetableish trail rig. Exact miles are in the mid 150s

How hard is changing the rear main in a 3.4 with the engine still in

Yes! That would be a great place to start to achieve an awesome climbing machine!  Good luck and I'll be following this build.
Yours may go fast, but, mine can go anywhere and if you get in my way, I'll run over you with my big tires, the Taco Box way...... Nice and slowwwwwwww......
