As did I, and 4RunnerChevy is correct. What else would you expect to happen if you depress the clutch under the torque load doubles generate. BOOM! And who needs a clutch at that speed anyways?

OK. I was just trying to clarify that I was not suggesting a driving style to him, just that if he was going to coast, to do it the proper way to avoid clutch damage.
