I had a bunk set of rod bearings from engine builder, they were in a ROCK box but ended up being TDC which is cheap chinese
Very clean in assembly and used Lubriplate 105, primed oil system before start up and within 3000 miles they literally crumbled.... I re-mic'd the journals to see if I flopped it up but it was still in specs. Never seen bearings just crumble like that! Clevite bearings are the only way to go! Quality parts, machine work, assembly and initial start up are very critical to longevity!
