I was coming back from Virginia and got a speeding ticket in NC. I was only going 15 over, but there was a mandatory court appearance.Two days later I had about 7 letters from lawyers wanting me to give them money and promising to get me out of the ticket.
After a week, I decided to call one of the lawyers. It cost less to pay one of the lawyers than it would to drive up to NC, get a hotel room, and pay the court fees for the ticket. I figure that there is some sort of racket going on in that county with the mandatory court dates and lawyer mailings.
Oh well. I got out of the ticket.
