Wow, it's been almost a year since I updated this!  Things have been going well still with talk here and there of advancement, but it's one of those deals that's completely up to you.  There's not an opening for a sales position per say, but there is the chance to learn the ropes and actually help when needed, plus the salesman are often busy when we find something in the shop that needs attention, and knowing how to properly use the system and actually sell from the back room helps keep things moving along in the back.

About 5 or so months ago I advanced to the position of bay coordinator and really like it.  It can get hectic and confusing at times, but it gives you a great chance to interact with the customer and help assure they're happy and well taken care of, which is also going toward helping me better understand what I'll need to do in sales.

And it's been months coming, but I finally got an evaluation today and it went quite well!  Everything is rated on a 1-5 scale, 3 being average, 4 above average and 5 something like outstanding.  He tells me he doesn't like handing out 5s cause there's nowhere to go up from there, and he considers 4 to be really good... so I got 4s on most, 3s on what I'd expect to (mostly stuff like training they haven't gone over with me yet) and a handfull of 5s, for an average of 3.8.  Of the 5 he's done so far, he said I'd done the best  :dunno:  A huge part of it seems to come from my good attitude and willingness to take criticism and learn from it rather than curl up in a ball or start making excuses.  Either way, when all was said and done, I came out with a very good review and a much needed raise  :gap:
RIP KYOTA

You can go through life being scared of the possible, or you can have a little fun and tease the inevitable.

Give a man venison, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to hunt Blacktail, he'll be frustrated for life!
