Its a early Volkswagen efi setup and are very reliable but for a gas engine I wouldn't bother.  They are ideal for diesels tho.   The main reason I wouldn't put one on a gas engine is due to the primitive fuel monitoring. They tend to run very rich.  If your truck is a trail rig only then I would say go for it.  If your seriously thinking bout that setup then make one yourself.  There is no computer.  As long as you have a electric full pump and good vacuum then you just need to go to picknpull and look for a I think its 81-85 Volkswagen gti or jetta with the 1.8L engine.  If you want to see how simple that system is google CIS injection. Basically there is a diaphragm on the bottom of the unit which pushes fuel thru the injection lines which is the main reason why they tend to run rich.
