I'd weld a piece of wire around the safety bead before I'd mess with a set of screws that are waiting to leak... One thing no one mentions is once you drop the air pressure down the rim will spin inside the tire very easily.. I've seen a few sets of tires ruined when the beads are torn apart and they won't hold air at all...
