Over the end of the speedo drive under the nut.
I had a old busted cable so I cut it and slid the nut off. I want to say the yota uses a standard GM 7/8"(?) thread so finding a nut isn't a big deal. 
Toyota 22 mm fine pitch, I think.
GM 7/8-18 I am sure.
