We lose an hour in the spring & gain it back in the fall -- And yeah, we could rearrange our schedules if having that extra hour of sunlight in the evening was really all that important to us.  

Being a grumpy old fart, I'd rather have summertime dusk at 9pm instead of 10pm so I could go to sleep at a reasonable hour...  

grumble grumble     

you just need to party a little more and it'll make sense again.
